We live in an age of endless information. All we have to do is open up a web browser and we have access to limitless facts, opinions and stories from all walks of life and all levels of expertise. On one hand, this can be a useful tool but most of the time, it ends up being frustrating and intimidating. I always tell my patients to stay off of Google when they have a question or concern about their fertility or health in general. With so much misinformation out there, I suggest consulting a professional or reading a book published by an expert in their field.

Over the years, I have accumulated a collection of my favourite books which have been useful to women who want to know more about natural fertility. These books are useful to women at any stage of their fertility journey, whether they are using assisted reproductive technologies, are trying on their own or are simply thinking of trying soon, these books are useful and accurate sources.

  1. The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis – this book was written decades ago by a Chinese Medicine practitioner who was treating infertility before Chinese Medicine became a popular option for ladies looking for help with getting pregnant. This book is well written and easy to understand. It is packed with tones of juicy info! Order it here.
  2. Feed Your Fertility: Your Guide to Cultivating a Healthy Pregnancy with Chinese Medicine, Real Food, and Holistic Living by Laura Erlich and Emily Bartlett – this book was published recently and has the most up to date info. The authors focus on eating for fertility and share many delicious recipes. Order it here.
  3. Making Babies: A Proven 3-Month Program for Maximum Fertility – by Jill Blakeway and Sami David – this book is an in depth look into fertility from the perspectives of a Chinese Medicine Practitioner and a Medical Doctor – who co wrote the book. If you’re really into discovering the ins and outs and love a lot of detail, this book is for you. It is packed with info as well as tools for self diagnosis – this gives readers the opportunity to begin doing things to help fertility, according to their own unique body type. Order it here.
  4. Reflections of the Moon on Water: Healing Women’s Bodies and Minds Through Traditional Chinese Wisdom – by Xiaolan Zhao – This book is the book that made me want to study Chinese Medicine and practice women’s medicine. Xiaolan writes about women’s health through all stages of life, from menstruation to preganancy to menopause. It is a different and refreshing read as we don’t tend to think of the body in the same way in the west. A must read for any woman! Order it here.

I’m reading the Infertility Cure now! And it is FULL of incredible information – I am marking pages and taking notes! A great read I think for anyone interested in balance in the body. I have making babies as well – but haven’t gotten there yet!

The Infertility Cure is a WONDERFUL resource! I had the pleasure of meeting the author, Rending Lewis in 2014. She is an amazingly brilliant woman!
